It is more blessed to give than to receive, the scripture says.
Howbeit, there are more receivers than givers. This is so because giving requires grace. It is an act of selflessness that may be inconvenient at times for the giver; yet, the grace of giving would always stir a giver to respond to the needy or a need.
As much as giving is blessed, the entanglement and snare the receiver is opened to unknowingly sometimes is a major cause for concern.
Gift has a way of compromising personal boundaries. “A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.” (Prov. 18:16, NIV)
Most times, It is important to evaluate the personality of the giver before accepting some gifts. Once you receive a gift from someone, you inadvertently become accessible to that person. So, whether the person is of good character or not, your acquaintance with he/she is further strengthened by the act of giving and receiving.
Dear Beloved, before thinking that every gift is an open door or prayer answered, ask yourself, if you will be glad to be associated with the giver. Some givers subtle announcement of you, as a beneficiary of their magnanimity can weaken your self esteem, while the bad character of some other giver that you are been linked with can ultimately kill your reputation.
Ponder on these things!
