In mathematics, an equation is a statement that asserts the equality of two expressions, which are connected by the equals sign “=”.
Going by the above definition therefore, it is interesting to point out the immutability characteristics of God’s word in Matt. 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
This verse, just like a Quadratic or Linear equation in our elementary Mathematics place side by side two expressions. The first expression is to ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God’ which we can conveniently postulate is equal to the Second expression which states ‘all these things shall be added unto you’
In effect, SEEK GOD’S KINGDOM FIRST = EVERYTHING SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU
Painfully, this is a success formular, many people are ignorant of or do not put to mind, rather most people are walking outside this equation expecting a glorious result.
Just as you cannot solve mathematical problems jumping the gun, but by applying a step by step approach in answering the mathematical task, so also you cannot jump the process in kingdom equation.
To seek after mundane things, go about your own business daily and prioritizing personal gain over God’s business is an act outside the equation stated above.
You may ask, should i abandon my job and business and channel my time and resources to God alone in Seeking God’s Kingdom?
The answer is NO. Seeking God’s Kingdom entails total dependence on God and true love for God.
As human, whoever you love dearly takes the center stage in your life. You consider that person FIRST before taking any action and most times actions you take is a reflection of what the person approves of. In like Manner, Seeking God first would simply imply loving up on God, considering him in all our actions and inactions, obeying his instructions and doing the things that please him.
These things are of course pleasing to God: Constant Fellowship with him in word and prayer, reaching out to the unsaved and ministering to them thereby leading them to God, obeying all of His instructions.
