God’s greatest desire is intimacy with him. God did not create us to seek after things, he created you to seek him. Dan 11:32b Isaiah 43:21. He created us for fellowship with him. This is expressed in Gen 3:8. 2cor 6:16
As far as God is God, God wants a day by day fellowship with him. Luke 11:3, He wants you to appear daily in fellowship with him.
What are the Requirements of Intimacy with God
1. A Passionate Desire for God: Your real value is in the depth of knowledge of God you have, and not in the number of years you have been a Christian. Psalm 63:1-2. Just like man, God also desires to be Desired, He wants to be Wanted.
This days people don’t have private time to fellowship with God. They only attempt a Koinonia in Public worship places and time; but God desires a deeper personal walk with him. James 4:8
If you want to get God’s attention, make him your focus. Psalm 42:2. The Proof of desire is Pursuit. Psalm 27:1
2. Sincerity of Heart: The journey to intimacy with God is an internal journey. It starts with the heart. God will not by-pass your heart to have relationship with you. Prov 4:23.
When you give God your heart, you have given him everything. God has rejected many because of their heart. 1sam 16:7, David wasn’t perfect, but he had sincerity of heart. Matt 5:8, God has a standard
How to develop sincerity of heart
i. Guard your heart
ii. Examine yourself regularly: 2Cor. 13:5
iii. Celebrate your trials: God allows for trials to purge you.
3. Separation unto God: Prov. 18:1, James 4:4, The road of intimacy is very narrow and it is only those that have separated themselves unto God that you find there.. Phil 2:15
How do i separate myself for intimacy
i. Make God first: Matt 6:33
ii. Be God’s ambassador: 2cor 5:20
