The world today is plagued with abnormalities and it has become increasingly difficult to discern or draw the line between good and bad, between what is acceptable and unacceptable. This accounts for why a lot of people are living in deception, why they’ve fallen into error and are living with regret.
The good news is, God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us, to lead us, to reveal the truth to us, to help us stand for righteousness despite compelling urge to compromise God’s principles, and to comfort us in difficult situations. John 16:13-14. Therefore, to avoid these errors and regrets, a thriving relationship with the Holy Spirit and total dependence on Him is crucial. Romans 8:12-14.
Peradventure you’re living with regret over past mistake(s) and wondering if there’s any way out for you, rest assured that the Holy Spirit will help you navigate the troubled waters when you turn to him. Perhaps you’re confused about something; the Holy Spirit will shed light on that issue, just turn to him. John 14:26
Another cardinal reason for the Holy Spirit, is to be able to defeat the devils of this world. Ephesians 6:12. There’s need for us to have and operate in the power of God to overcome the unseen forces of this world and their evil manifestations. That is why the Holy Spirit empowers us to win the everyday battles of life, Luke 24:49, Mark 16:17. As Jesus never started his ministry without the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:14, Mark 1:35), never start your day without first consulting the Holy Spirit.
It is also pertinent to note that the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, is a guarantee that we belong to God. He is our divine seal. He represents God’s legal signature on our lives, signifying that we belong to God Ephesians 1:13-14. In other words, God gave us the Holy Spirit as a down payment for our lives till his second coming. Therefore, rejoice and be glad!
