Tongues is a language you are gifted with and not learned. Every kingdom has its own tongue that distinguishes it from other kingdoms.
Why do we speak in tongues?:
1. It is a divine sign of identification and separation: mark 16:17, Isaiah 8:18, God’s children are to emit these signs. 1 Cor. 14:22. It is an evidence that the Holy Ghost is dwelling on your inside in its fullness. Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:44-46
2. It is one-on-one with God: Speaking in tongues puts you on God’s hotline. 1 Cor. 14:2. Prayer is intercourse and fusion between you and God. 1 cor. 14:14
3. It is a journey to the realm of the supernatural: All-natural language must be learned, but this language is supernatural and is gifted, therefore you enter into a supernatural dimension of life when you speak this supernatural language, 1 Cor. 14:2
4. It is a secret to building spiritual muscle: Praying in tongues helps to build your spiritual capacity. Your spiritual capacity determines the answers to your prayer
5. To magnify God: Acts 10:45-47, your consciousness of God becomes enlarged when you Magnify God in the Spirit.
6. It is the gateway to Spiritual Gifts: 1 Cor. 12:8, The gifts of the holy ghost are meant for all believers, not for pastors only. However, the entry point to these gifts is the gift of tongues. Gifts of the Spirits will flow easily when you become addicted to speaking in tongues. 1Cor 12:7
