What are the Attributes of Divine Guidance?
1. It is personal: The leadership of God is individualistic in nature. Psalm 23:1. God is a personal God and he speaks to us individually. The way he speaks to one differs to another, because our make-up is differently. Acts 9:4-5.
Don’t use general information to run your life, you need to hear God for direction in your life. Psalm 32:8. As a parent, don’t use the instruction you receive from God to lead your children, teach them to hear God for themselves and then guide them accordingly.
2. It is continuous: we never graduate from the school of divine guidance. It is continuous in nature. Isaiah 58:11, Isaiah 55:8. Divine leadership will always be a need in your life until your time on earth is over. Psalm 23:1-6
3. It is gradual: God doesn’t just give you the full blown picture. He releases them bit by bit. John 26:12. God releases this guidance in bit in order to prepare you for the things he is planning for you.
Isaiah 28:10, Rom. 1:17, Going gradually is the way of faith and your relationship with God is meant to be step by step.. God believes in process. Destiny is impossible without steps of faith.
4. It is clear and void of doubt: Gen 12:1. God’s voice isn’t ambiguous. Psalm 27:11
5. It is sometimes strange: Gen 26:12, Exo. 14:15. God’s leading never brings confusion. It might be strange but it is intended for your profiting
7. It is comprehensive: This means it’s wide. God is interested in every area of your life and he wants to lead you in every area. Deut 28:1
