God ordained prayers for answers. He delights in answering our prayers. He never stores our prayer.
Every time you pray, there must be evidence to return with. Jer. 33:3, Matt 7:7, Isaiah 45:19
Prayer is worthless, if it does not produce evidence.
What are the hinderances to Effective Prayer?
1. Prayer Amis: To pray amiss, is to pray in the wrong way or pray faultily.
How do we pray amiss?
a. Praying with the wrong motive: when the motive is wrong, you are marked wrong in life. 2 Chr 16:9, 2Chr. 25:2, when it comes to prayer, the heart of the matter, is the matter of the heart.
To pray effectively, you must be able to answer, why you want what you want from God
b. When you pray the wrong kind of prayers: There are different kinds of prayers. Eph 6:18
– Matt 16:18-19, illustrates prayer of binding and loosing
– Matt 7:7, illustrates prayer of supplication
– Matt 26:39, illustrates prayer of Dedication.
So praying the right kind of prayer at the right time is what guarantees answer.
c. Praying outside of God’s will: God is only committed to his will as revealed by his word. 1John 5:14
2. Praying without Faith: unbelief and doubt will ruin our effort in prayers. James 1:6-7
