Your birth is God’s decision. Jer 1:5, Your birth is not your choice. You are not a mistake or an accident, rather, you are a deliberate Creation of God. If you are not needed on earth, your mother’s womb would have been your tomb. Psalm 139:13-15
You are not just a happenstance, you a creature for a purpose and that is why there is no two of you. You are a unique creature.
Even Siamese twin have something’s unique different from each other.
Eccl 3:1 shows us that there is a time for everyone’s manifestation. Time is given for the sake of purpose and destiny Eccl 3:1. Anytime wasted, is destiny wasted. Jer. 29:11 (NLT) reveals to us that God brought you into the earth on purpose, don’t be discontent and look down on yourself. It is in the pursuit of destiny that you find the real meaning of life.
What is the blessedness of Destiny?
- Destiny determines dignity: until destiny is found, dignity is lost. Rom 8:28-30.
- Destiny brings provision: A man of destiny is a man on mission, and mission always commands provision. Luke 22:35. Your coming to this world is on invitation. Isaiah 49:1, and every invitation has provision. Psalm 127:3-4, Everyone was shot to this earth to register an indelible impact. Jer1:5, Isaiah 49:1, all tells us that God gave us an identity before we appear here. You are not in existence for census sake, you are here on a mission and that mission can only be performed by you. So, no matter how much potential you have released, there is more of you that still need to be released. Just like an onion, the more of you , you release , the more of the beauty you see inside
- Destiny glorify God and impact men: Your destiny is not a self centred venture. It doesn’t promote you but God. Isaiah 43:21, therefore, as a child of God , whatever you are into that doesn’t give God glory, isn’t God’s plan for your life. 1peter 2:9. It is important to note that when you are in track with destiny, anything you do will glorify God and impact men and so when you glorify God, you are ultimately glorified by God. Gen 12:3, Jer. 1:5, Your destiny must be a contributory destiny
- Destiny always prevail: The beauty of destiny is that no matter how it is rough at the beginning, when you are in track with destiny , you will not fail. Eph 6:12, There may be spiritual contest in the beginning, but at the end it is always glorious. Prov 19:21. All the resources of heaven are often deployed for the pursuit of destiny, because God is not a waster. He supplies to those on track with life’s calling. 1Thess 5:24
How do we Discover Destiny?:
Life remain a struggle, until destiny is pursued. Jer 1:5, you are on this earth on a mission to fulfill destiny but destiny needs to be discovered first before the pursuit of it.
So how do we discover Destiny:
- Carry a desperate desire: your real wealth and riches is in the discovery of your destiny, so you must carry a desperate desire first to discover your destiny before anything; but in God’s agenda, desire is key to get anything from God. Mark 11:24. In Gen 32:24-28, 1chr 4:9, it shows how people demonstrated their desire for destiny and purpose.
- The Prayer of inquiry: Many people pray but don’t pray about their destiny. It is a prayer to ask for the reason you are created, because every product is best known by its manufacturer. Matt 7:7-8, Jer 33:3, Jer 29:11-12. Your destiny is not known by your father, prophets or professor. Psalm 16:11, It is revealed by God personally to you.
- Self Evaluation: when you check your make up and your environment etc, you will have an idea of what God wants you to be Psalm 139:15-16. Mike Murdock quipped that ‘The problem that infuriates you the most is the problem you are called to solve.
- Check your vision: what are your dreams? What are the pictures you always see in your childhood. These may be pointers to what your destiny is. Gen 37:1-5. Joseph dreamt but his dreams and vision took about 13yrs before it come to fulfilment.
